Cammell Laird - Keeping Training Ship Shape
Cammell Laird is one of the best known names in British Industry - most recently hitting the headlines as being the ship builder of the RRS Sir David Attenborough Polar Research Vessel that was very nearly called ‘Boaty McBoatface’.
Being the largest and most successful ship repair and conversion specialist in the UK it is continually looking to expand and develop globally. As part of this strategy, Cammell Laird has engaged our services to drive through the delivery of a comprehensive leadership 'Productivity Improvement' training programme.
The consultation programme has been designed by KZN following extensive research and one to one interviews by our director, Michael Bainbridge, in consultation with the Cammell Laird leadership team; it has been tailored to address transformational requirements to support this huge organisation as it rapidly expands as a cutting edge engineering services specialist. The training being delivered for all employees also includes live inputs from key managers within Cammell Laird itself.
This month will see the skills development aspect of the programme start with employees working towards achieving a Diploma in Business Improvement Techniques via structured work based projects. The projects will underpin achievement of a fit for purpose value stream.
